What is therapy?
The idea of therapy can be a daunting one. Sharing difficult experiences, fears, hopes and expectations with a complete stranger sounds like an odd concept. Yet therapy is unique in that it provides a non-judgemental, supportive and open-minded space where there are no distractions and the focus is entirely on you and your needs.

Therapy can help us to unpack our difficulties and gain a new perspective and clarity on a situation. It can also enhance our understanding of how and why we relate to others and ourselves. It’s often through acceptance and our willingness to learn from our experiences – both good and bad – that we can begin to learn to live our most authentic life.
How I work
I offer a non-judgemental, safe, supportive and open-minded space where there are no distractions and the focus is entirely on you and your needs.

I aim to help you to develop a deeper understanding of your internal world, your emotional and mental processes and your motivations and patterns of behaviour. Together, we can unpack your difficulties to gain a new perspective and clarity on a situation.

I believe that our sense of who we are is deeply entwined with our relationships. In therapy, we will explore your relationships – both past and present – to better understand how and why you relate to others and yourself.

I work relationally, which means central to my practice is the strength of the relationship between myself and my clients. I’m not what’s called a “blank screen therapist”; I bring myself to our work, and I engage in a here-and-now dialogue with my clients. I see therapy as a collaborative process and I always encourage honest and open feedback.

Being an integrative therapist means I draw from a variety of psychotherapeutic models in order to tailor our work to your individual needs. Additionally, I work from a trauma-informed perspective, holding in mind the impact that trauma can have on relationships, regulation and behaviour.

Every new client attends an initial consultation. This is charged at £65 per session. It is an opportunity for you to discuss in more detail what brings you to therapy, and for you to decide whether we can work well together.
