What is psychosexual therapy?

Psychosexual therapy is an integrative approach that brings together talking therapy and behavioural techniques to address sexual difficulties and concerns. It can be undertaken individually or with a partner.

Issues I work with include mismatched desire, difficulties reigniting intimacy, pain during sex, difficulties with arousal or orgasm, erectile dysfunction, or the impact of trauma, illness, or major life changes on your sex life, or sexual issues after birth trauma .

How I work

Sexual difficulties are far more common than people realise and they can have many roots. I have specialist training in a model that is integrative and addresses both sexual and relational issues. I blend psychoeducation and behavioural exercises with systemic, psychodynamic and somatic approaches. I will always tailor our work to what feels most helpful for you. Our sessions will begin with a  assessment of the issue, including any relevant medical factors. I take time to understand the fuller picture, exploring how relationship dynamics, personal history, culture, sex education and sexual development may be contributing factors.

I work in a way that is genuinely inclusive and affirming of all genders, sexual orientations, and relationship structures, drawing on the principles of Gender, Sexuality,Relationship Erotic Diversity (GSRD) therapy.

Fees

My fee for individual therapy is £65 per session and for couples it is £90. Each session lasts 50 minutes. I reserve a certain number of concessionary spaces for those on low income, so please let me know if you’re looking for a reduced fee when contacting me.

Every new client attends a consultation. This is charged at £65 per session. This is an opportunity for you to discuss in more detail what brings you to therapy, and for you to decide whether we can work well together

Finding the right therapist for you is really important, so if you have any initial questions I am more than happy to have a brief chat on the phone.
